After taking control of a series of rail networks in the Greater London area, TfL set about re-branding, modernising and commisioning new designs for the 55 stations that make up the London Overground orbital rail service.
To ensure the successful re-branding of existing and soon to be built stations, a series of station design guidelines were produced. Site visits and surveys enabled us to document and illustrate recommendations for the positioning of signage and furniture, material use and material finish, and general colour schemes and architectural improvements. These were presented in the form of before and after photomontage images, showing improvements to both the exterior and interior environments of 6 key stations.
The guidelines were also used as an aid to engage the key stakeholders in the re-branding exercise, and were used to publicise the scheme to the general public.
