Developing a design legacy fit for the 21st century

We have developed a wide range of products for London Underground to meet the needs of their passengers.

Products have included interior and exterior signage, information boards and stands, electronic displays, CCTV housings, help points, and larger scale architectural works such as station entrance structures.

Key to our work has been the development of a strong brand identity throughout all the products that is contemporary yet reaffirms the strong design tradition of the Underground in the 21st century.

The design language developed is honest and robust, with smooth outer forms. The use of consistent details, materials and colours throughout the different products creates a reassuring and constant image for the public.

Over 10,000 products installed on the tube network

The underground is an architecturally diverse environment, with modern and heritage stations. It is vital that new products are designed with sensitivity to both, and do not date quickly.

With over 3 million journeys per day, safety, robustness, low maintenance and vandal resistance are paramount. For each product we provide risk assessments and assurance documentation, ensuring all features, materials and electrical equipment comply with the rigorous requirements of London Underground.

All designs are fully detailed for production using the latest 2D and 3D CAD software. Additionally we provide project management; organising prototypes, testing, and structural safety assessments; recommending suppliers; and producing installation and maintenance guidelines. Comprehensive specification documents enable our client to carry out competitive tendering processes to ensure best value.
